LAKE PLACID - The Avon Park girls golf team stayed undefeated by winning a quad match on Monday at Placid Lakes Country Club.
The Red Devils had a four-person team score of 222 for nine holes, DeSoto placed second with a 232, Lake Placid had a 264 and Hardee did not have enough players to record a team score.
Avon Park was led by junior Paige Moffat's 50, sophomore Sarah Hunnicutt shot a 51, senior Courtney Robinson had a 58 and senior Zeporah Gasper rounded out the scoring with a 63.
The win improved the Red Devils to 4-0 on the season.
"This was our first away match of the season and the girls were a little nervous," said Red Devil first-year coach Suzie Gentry. "They took a few holes to settle down, but after that they played pretty well.
"I'm very pleased with our play because the Lake Placid course is longer than we're used to playing and the greens were pretty fast."
Avon Park is back on the links next Monday with a match against Hardee at Torrey Oaks golf course.
