Yes, it is that time of year once more: the Heartland Idol contest. Two weeks of the contest have come and gone and if you haven't been attending you have been missing out. You have two weeks to mark you calendar, Sept. 25, for the next show.

I myself am so glad there is a two-week break as I will be out of state and will only have to miss one preformance. You just can't conceive of the talent we have right here at our own backdoor.

Then too you will have a chance to meet some new friends, as your best friend today was a stranger yesterday. Smile and talk about the show to the people sitting close by and who knows what will develop. Come out and join the fun as Don Elwell and David Flowers, the emcees for the event, do make sure it is fun.

You may not agree with all the judges but they do have the final say. I will admit one woman judge does have a way of rubbing me the wrong way. But I guess that has a way of adding to the show.

Please come out a see what you have been missing all these years, five of them I think it has been.
