SEBRING - The three varieties of WingStreet chicken wings and eight "intense" flavors of sauce aren't the only new things at Pizza Hut.
The Pizza Hut locations in Highlands County have been painted both inside and new carpeting has been installed. Flat screen TVs have been put in and employees have different uniforms.
The decor has changed. Customers will likely see photos from local high schools, colleges, professional teams and NASCAR in the restaurants.
"We're trying to incorporate the hometown theme," said Julie Wynn, team leader for Pizza Hut.
Wynn said work is continuing on the decor at the stores in Sebring, Lake Placid and Avon Park.
WingStreet, the world's largest delivery wing concept, is now a part of Pizza Hut Inc.
"Our rapid development is thanks to the strength of the WingStreet brand and the appeal of our products," said Lisken Lawler, director, WingStreet concept development. "Customers love our chicken wings and are fueling demand as we add the concept to restaurants across the country."
In addition to the crispy bone-in, bone-out or traditional style wings, customers can order WingStreet Taters, cheese sticks and apple pies as well as pizza.
WingStreet is undergoing an aggressive expansion strategy as it plans to add more than 4,000 new points of access within newly built and existing Pizza Hut restaurants within the next three years.
The WingStreet brand was created in 2003 as a delivery-based wing chain and continues to expand its presence within Pizza Hut restaurants across the country. The 1,000{+t}{+h} location opened in March 2007.
There are more than 1,300 WingStreet locations in the United States, Australia and Canada.
