LAKE PLACID - Lake Placid 29, Celebration 10
Lake Placid scored 29 unanswered points and got rushing touchdowns from senior Chevontray Wilson, junior Caleb Jones and junior Navarhi Holden on Friday night to lead the Green Dragons to a 29-10 victory over Celebration.
Lake Placid senior quarterback Zach Campbell was 5-of-6 for 39 yards and led the Green Dragons with 57 yards rushing. He found Jacob Campbell on a play action pass in the right corner of the end zone with 1:18 left in the first half to put the Dragons up 19-3.
The Storm was led by junior tailback Dayna Francis, who had 25 yards on 15 carries. They scored their lone touchdown with a minute to play in the fourth when third-string quarterback Miguel Torres-Bruno found junior Deatrick Green for a 70-yard score. Celebration starting quarterback Geoffrey Bangley was injured with a minute to play before the half and did not return.
Lake Placid's Steven Guelff booted a 45-yard field goal in the third quarter.
It was Lake Placid coach Jason Holden's first victory has head coach.
