SEBRING - Investigators from the Sebring and Avon Park police departments and the sheriff's offices from Orange and Highlands counties took down what Sheriff Susan Benton called a "burglary and robbery ring."

The three are suspects in crimes in multiple jurisdictions, she said.

Those arrested were Deol Narayan, 18, of 3525 Dauphine St., Sebring; Luis Reyes, 18, of 2011 Rainbow Ave., Sebring; and Nicholas Ramos, 19, of 1879 Jones Drive, Sebring.

Narayan, Reyes, and Ramos all face robbery charges related to the armed robberies of a Subway restaurant and a 7-Eleven convenience store in Orange County, on Aug. 8 and Aug. 9, respectively.

The Highlands County Sheriff's Office has charged Narayan with the robbery of Taylor's BP at State Road 17 N. and Arbuckle Creek Road, Sebring on July 8; the robbery of AJ Petroleum located at Grand Prix Drive and U.S. 27 on July 7; and the robbery of an individual walking near AJ Petroleum on Aug. 16, Benton said.

"Narayan also faces charges from the Avon Park Police Department in reference to the robbery of the Hilltop Texaco gas station in the early morning hours of Aug. 16," according to the report.

The investigation began with Reyes' arrest on Aug. 7 by the Sebring Police Department.

Reyes was charged with a burglary and grand theft reportedly committed at 2902 Orange Grove Drive, in Sebring.

As a subsequent investigation and interviews revealed the scope of the suspects' alleged criminal activity, detectives from Sebring and Avon Park police departments and the Highlands and Orange County sheriff's offices collaborated to link them with crimes under investigation, Benton said.

The investigation culminated with two search warrants served on Aug. 20, the first at 1879 Jones Drive, Sebring, followed by a second at 3525 Dauphine St., in Sebring.

"These search warrants resulted in the recovery of evidence, firearms, and stolen property," said Benton.

Sebring Police Chief Tom Dettman said this remains an ongoing investigation and additional charges are pending.

"We're satisfied with the ongoing investigation and we hope to draw (the noose) tighter in the next few days," he said.

Narayan and Ramos are being charged with burglary of a dwelling and grand theft in connection with a burglary at 4000 Arbuckle Creek Road.

Reyes is also being charged with a burglary and grand theft that occurred at 4622 Queen Palm Drive, in Sebring, on Aug. 6.
