We as citizens of Highlands County are fortunate to have a candidate with Ron Grimming's formidable law enforcement experience, trustworthiness and high moral ethics wanting to serve the needs of this county. He has a proven track record that will enable him to drastically improve community safety, put more deputies on patrol, greatly reduce law enforcement cost to taxpayers and safeguard evidence to ensure effective prosecutions.

Ron's calm reserve and even-handed approach to problems are essential in treating all citizens fairly and with upmost respect. There will be no late evening confrontations with county commissioners, store mangers or anyone else.

His impeccable inter-personal skills equip him to cooperatively work with diverse organizations, find solutions to critical problems, set goals and establish action plans. Ron's varied senior management experience and in-depth knowledge of law enforcement make him the best candidate to build crucially needed relationships among city, county, state and federal law enforcement organizations.

I recently asked city level law enforcement officers how many official meetings they have had in the past four years with the sheriff's department. They said "zero." Dynamic and cooperative interaction among law enforcement organizations is required to resolve vital issues and attack the growing crime and gang problems.

Susan's response on Monday to an increasing crime-gang problem was, "That is not just Highlands County, that is statewide, that has been nationwide."
