'Terror Trail' Open Again At Humane Society

SEBRING - The Humane Society of Highlands County is sponsoring the "Terror Trail" today and Oct. 18 at 7321 Haywood Taylor Blvd., near Sebring Regional Airport.

Children 13 and under can walk on the trail from 7 - 8 p.m. The cost is $4 per person.

Older teens and adults can visit from 8 - 10 p.m. The cost is $6 per person.

Dance Club Features The Legacy Allstars

SEBRING - The Highlands Social Dance Club hosts ballroom dancing tonight from 7 - 10 at the Sebring Lions Club on Sebring Parkway.

Music will be provided by the Legacy Allstars.

Free ballroom dance instruction from Walt and Sue is available at 6:30 p.m.

All club dances are open to the public. Appropriate dress is required.

Admission is $4 for members and $6 for non-members.

Evening Concerts To Begin At Hammock Park

SEBRING - The Friends of Highlands Hammock's evening concerts in the park will begin Oct. 18 in the picnic area.

Admission is $5 per person. Accompanied children 12 and under will be admitted free. Park admission will be waived after 6 p.m.

Back Porch Revival Old Time String Band will begin playing at 7.

Show At Tanglewood

SEBRING - Fall Guys and A Gal will perform at Tanglewood on Oct. 18.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show will start at 7.

Tickets are $10 per person.

Tanglewood is located one-quarter mile north of the Sebring Wal-Mart on U.S. 27.

Oktoberfest Planned In AP
AVON PARK - The Avon Park Main Street CRA and Avon Park Chamber of Commerce are sponsoring Oktoberfest 2008 on Museum Avenue on Oct. 18.

The event will run from 4 - 8 p.m.

Sebring Sidewalk Sale Returns

SEBRING - The Sebring Sidewalk Sale, sponsored by the Greater Sebring Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Council, will be held from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. Oct. 18.

Fruit, plants, vegetables, used books, clothes household items and collectibles will be sold along the streets in downtown Sebring.

Arc Plans Benefit

SEBRING - Ridge Area Arc and Heacock Insurance Group are hosting a night of 10 professional thoroughbred races on Oct. 18.

The event will run from 5:30 - 9 p.m. at Duffers in Sebring.

The cost is $30 and includes food, nonalcoholic drinks and "funny" money.

Community Drum Circle Slated At Park

SEBRING - The Primal Connection and Highlands Hammock State Park are hosting a Community Drum Circle on Oct. 19 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Highlands Hammock State Park.

Those planning to attend are asked to bring a chair, or blanket, snack and something to drink and an instrument if they have one.

The normal park entrance fee of $4 per vehicle applies.

Primal Connnection members enter free by showing a card or wearing a Primal T-shirt

Some percussion instruments will be available for the public to use.
