SEBRING - A local man was charged with attempted murder after police say he opened fire with a gun in the area of Lula B. White Street, early Thursday morning, striking a residence.
Terrance Quinn Eubanks, 21, of 125 Montego Drive, is charged with two counts of attempted murder and one count each of shooting into an occupied dwelling, discharging a firearm in public and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to the Sebring Police Department.
Officers were dispatched to the location in reference to a shooting complaint. There, they spoke with a man who said he had argued with the subject as to the whereabouts of a third person.
As the resident was entering the doorway of his Lula B. White Street, home, he heard a gun shot and ran into the house, according to the arrest report. He told officers he believed the shot came from the paved alley across the street, but did not see the shooter.
The victim told police he then called a friend to find out what the problem was. Within a few minutes, the two met at the home on Lula B. White Street., after the second victim made contact with the suspect.
As they were talking, one said he saw Eubanks in the same alley as before and alleged the suspect fired several more gun shots toward their direction, the report stated. One of the men ran back inside the house while the other ran in the opposite direction of the shots.
As officers investigated the area, they found a bullet hole in the outside stair railing approximately a foot from the area where the two victims were standing. They also found a fresh bullet hole in the exterior of an occupied residence, somewhere near the front door.
Four spent 9mm shell casings were also found in the alley where the two victims stated the shots came from, which was 78.6 feet away from where they were standing.
The two victims were both shown photographs of Eubanks and both identified him, according to the report.
Eubanks was found at his home. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Highlands County Jail.
A search warrant was served on Eubanks' residence, where a Star 9mm semi-automatic handgun was found behind a set of concrete stairs in the back of the house, the report stated.
An attempt was made to question Eubanks, who refused.
SPD Officer Larry Carmody made the arrest.
