SEBRING - Jim Higgins wants to offer Love Bugg's Car Wash customers more than just a clean car looking spiffy both inside and out.

In addition to the Chevron gas and the convenience store that includes a deli, Higgins is planning to add oil changes and a contract post office to the services Love Bugg's will have.

"Everything is to get people in the store," Higgins said of the 8,500 square-foot building.

Higgins, Love Bugg's general manager, said a Castrol Quick Lube site will be located behind the store next to the two-story self-service car/boat/RV wash. He expects it to be operational in January and be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week.

The U.S. Postal Service contract office will open early next year - probably in February. Customers will be able to mail packages and letters and buy stamps.

Higgins believes it will be a good location for people in the north part of Sebring who will not have to go to the post office near Lakeshore Mall.

The fully automatic tunnel car wash is state of the art, according to Higgins. The hours for the car wash are 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. It is also open Sunday. Prices range from $5 to $12.

Higgins noted that more than 400 cars were washed during the grand opening on Nov. 22.

The store, which is located at 4200 U.S. 27 N. in Sebring, is open 6 a.m. - 10 p.m. seven days a week.

Love Bugg's is under new ownership. Higgins said he is a "working partner" with two other partners.

The former general manager at Lakeshore Car Wash and owner of a car detail business in Sebring said Love Bugg's is "a gold mine."

There are 19 employees.

"Everything is a team effort," Higgins said. "This is all based on service."

Higgins said he wants the business to be community oriented and is planning to do fundraisers.
