SEBRING - Na Advisories
A tornado watch is in effect for Highlands County and for much of the state of Florida.
High winds caused damage earlier today in Levy and Citrus counties, but according to Anthony Reynes, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Ruskin, there were no confirmed tornado sightings, as of 1:45 p.m.
Residents in Highlands County should expect gusty winds and periods of heavy rain.
Reynes stressed that residents should stay alert since atmospheric conditions are conducive for tornado formation.
Reynes said at 1:45 p.m. to expect "pretty heavy showers" associated with a storm then in Hardee County and another storm in Charlotte County.
