SEBRING - A 16-year-old boy was arrested Saturday after three Sebring businesses and Sebring High and Sebring Middle schools were burglarized, Sebring police said.
Authorities said he was charged with burglary. The youth was then transferred to Highlands County Jail.
Sgt. Tom Gilliard of the Sebring Police Department said Sunday that automated alarms started going off at 8:57 p.m. Saturday.
Break-ins were reported at one of the city's two Publix Supermarkets, Dollar Tree and a thrift store, in addition to the schools, Gilliard said.
No further information was available as of press time Sunday.
