It has come to my attention that there are those, supposedly from your own party, who are now trying to smear you with a variety of accusations since the election is over. There would appear to be no valid reason for this unless they are indulging in a personal vendetta. I suppose this may not have surprised you, but their actions are deplorable. I heard someone say that such vindictive actions reveal more about the character of the accuser than that of the accused. I agree!

I commend your courage in accepting the challenge to serve your country knowing that you open yourself to this kind of outrageous behavior from even those who should have been expected to be your friends and backers.

I want to tell you that I did not approve of Sen. McCain in the primary. I suppose I would have voted for him in the election, although figuratively holding my nose, but it was only after you were chosen as the vice presidential candidate that I could vote for the ticket with my head held high.

I view you as a lovely Christian lady, a true conservative and a Republican worthy of the name (as some others are not.) May God bless you and give you strength.
