Child Hurt After Being Run Over By Father

WAUCHULA - A 2-year-old child was in fair condition Thursday at Tampa General Hospital after being run over by his father's truck.

The accident happened Wednesday afternoon at a home located at 1041 Old Bradenton Road, Wauchula.

Bee Vue, 35, pulled onto the property in his 1993 Chevy 1500 truck. The vehicle stopped and Ariya Vue, 2, got out of the truck's bed and then fell to the ground, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Bee Vue then started to back the truck, running over the child.

The left rear tire rolled over the child's midsection, the FHP said.

The driver reportedly said he "felt a bump" and stopped to look, at which time he saw his child in front of the left rear tire.

The child was taken in serious condition to the Florida Hospital in Wauchula before being airlifted via Airomed to Tampa General.

Another passenger, Charlie Vue, 8, was also in the bed of the truck. Charges are pending an investigation, according to the FHP.
