SEBRING –– The 2008 Sertoma Junior Golf Tour will kick off with its annual adult/child tournament at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
Entry fee is $75 per team, which includes 18 holes of golf, range balls, trophies and dinner.
The tournament is being held at Sun 'N Lake Country Club and registration is at noon.
The Sertoma Junior Tour, which is for youngsters ages 6-18, is in its 14th year and Sun 'N Lake Country Club assistant professional Andy Kesling is beginning his second year as Sertoma Tour director.
"We're hoping a large number of kids come out this summer," said Kesling. "We've got a good schedule with different courses each week that will test each of the golfers skills.
"We're excited about the summer and can't wait to get started."
Registration to join the Sertoma Tour is $25 and after the adult/child event, the Bagwell Invitational is next on the calendar at River Greens Golf Course on June 7-8.
"The Sertoma Tour is a great way for kids to learn the game of golf the right way," said Kesling. "Playing by the rules, under pressure and with kids your own age provides the kids with a learning experience."
