AP Chamber To Hold Awards Banquet
AVON PARK — The Avon Park Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual awards banquet Thursday, June 5 at the Avon Park Community Center.
The theme for the banquet is "A Hawaiian Luau," which will begin with a social hour at 6 p.m. Dinner will follow at 7. The cost is $35 per person.
There will be a silent auction, door prizes and entertainment.

Spas, Pools & Patio To Host Seminar
SEBRING — Spas, Pools & Patio, 189 U.S. 27 S., Sebring, will host a residential pool seminar from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 20.
Basic upkeep, maintenance and circulation will be discussed.

Horvath Joins Crystal Day Spa
AVON PARK — Marilyn Horvath, a state and nationally licensed and certified massage therapist, has joined Crystal Day Spa, 816 U.S. 27 S., in Avon Park.
Horvath specializes in Swedish Relaxation, Foot Reflexology and Hot Stone Massage Therapy.
Crystal Day Spa also offers manicures and pedicures, facials, body wraps, ear candling and full body waxing.

Running Returns To EDC
SEBRING — Joy Running has come out of retirement and has returned to work at the Highlands County Economic Development Commission.
Running began working fulltime last Monday as the EDC's executive assistant, which is the same position she previously held.
Stevens Construction Begins Florida Hospital Renovation In Wauchula
WAUCHULA — Stevens Construction Inc. has started construction on the Florida Hospital Heartland Division Emergency Room announced Mark Stevens, company president.
Designed by Burt Hill/Pollock Kreig Architects Inc., the 5,350-square-foot renovation will be completed in three phases while the hospital remains in operation. Renovations include a pharmacy remodel, addition of a nurse's station and the reconfiguring of the emergency and treatment rooms.
This is Stevens Construction's eighth project for Florida Hospital. The company also built a 36-bed, 50,000-square-foot expansion and remodeled a free-standing medical office on the hospital's Sebring campus.
PR Group To Meet At Cypress Gardens
WINTER HAVEN — Cypress Gardens will be the venue and John Stine, senior consultant of Baker Leisure Group, the guest speaker for the monthly professional development meeting of the Dick Pope/Polk County chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) on Wednesday, May 21.
As guest speaker, Stine will share details of his company's recent appointment to operate Cypress Gardens, the state of Florida's oldest themed attraction. The meeting will be held in Aunt Julie's Back Room beginning at 11:30 a.m. with networking, followed by a buffet lunch and Stine's presentation.
