SEBRING — A Sebring woman remained in Highlands County Jail without bond Tuesday, after sheriff's deputies arrested her Friday following a domestic violence related dispute.
Norma J. McClellan, 65, of Sebring, was charged with felony battery or domestic battery by strangulation.
It was about 10:30 a.m. Friday when deputies drove to an undisclosed address, in reference to a domestic violence call.
The victim, McClellan's biological daughter, 41, reportedly suffered scratches on her neck. She told investigators that she felt she was going to pass out when her mother grabbed her around her neck with both hands and started choking her, according to the arrest report.
The two women were separated by a male witness, who said the victim nearly passed out and was having difficulty breathing.
