I read two interesting letters in the March 5 edition of Highlands Today. One of them from Ted Poliac concerning the labor center in Jupiter that finds jobs for illegals. The other story was from Michelle Curry about her "Treatment Offered in Emergency Room", where the illegals get the free medicine and pay no portion while Marie had to pay her portion up front.
Welcome folks, to the land of Uncle Sugar, where the cornucopia flows freely with plenty of milk and honey, and money.
This is an indication of where we are going and what is to come.
Speaking of things to come, how many readers are aware of the proposal to create a Global Poverty Act, complete with a Global Poverty Tax? To quote the article:"A bill called the Global Poverty Act, sponsored by Democratic presidential candidate and Sen. Barack Obama, is up for a Senate vote and could result in the imposition of a global tax on the United States. The bill, which has the support of many liberal religious groups, makes levels of U.S. foreign aid spending subservient to the dictates of the United Nations." There is more to the story which can be seen at www.newswithviews.com/Kincaid/cliff207.htm.
Another new source, Accuracy in Media reports that Sen. Joe Biden is trying to rush Obama's Global Poverty Act (S.2433) through his committee. The legislation would commit the U.S. to spending 0.7 percent of gross national product on foreign aid, which amounts to a phenomenal 13 year total of $845 billion over and above what the U.S. already spends.
Also carrying the story is the eagle@eagleforum.org. It mentions the Global Poverty Act (S.2433) sponsored by Barack Obama and references the United Nations Millennium Summit which calls for countries to dramatically increase foreign aid and sign on to many dangerous treaties.
I and many other folks would probably dismiss this sort of story as baloney if it appeared to come from one source, but there appears to be several reliable sources whose information is consistent along the same lines.
Michelle Curry's and Ted Poliac's experiences are only the tip of the iceberg. There will be more rising to the surface, and guess who is going to pay for it ? Hang on to your wallets.
