OKEECHOBEE - OKEECHOBEE - The Sebring All-Stars stayed undefeated on Sunday with a 5-3 come-from-behind victory over rival Avon Park at the Dixie 13-year-old District 8 tournament at Okeechobee Sports Complex.
The result eliminates Avon Park from the tournament and sends Sebring into Monday's district final against Okeechobee (who Sebring defeated 1-0 on Saturday).
AP led 2-1 going into bottom of sixth before Sebring erupted for four runs, highlighted by Justin Long's two-run single. Right-hander Bubba Boston picked up the win with 3 1/3 innings of one-hit relief to keep Sebring close.
Undefeated Sebring now has two chances to win the district title: They face Okeechobee at 6 p.m. on Monday night. If they win the first game, they'll be crowned District 8 champions. If Okee wins, a second game will be played 30 minutes after the first ends to determind the district champ.
Both teams advance to state tournament in Marianna, which begins July 18.
