AVON PARK — Facing a two-shot deficit entering Friday's final round of the All-State championships, Blake Liles came through with a 75 to finish first in the boys 17-18 age group in the Sertoma Junior Golf Tour event at Highlands Ridge North.

Liles, who plays on the Sebring High School golf team, shot a 69 over 16 holes on Thursday at Highlands Ridge South, and finished with a two-day total of 144, while Clay Davis, a member of the Avon Park High School golf team, placed second after rounds of 67-79-146.

Red Devil golfer Greg Gentry came in third with a 148, while John Vicker Jr. finished fourth at 165.

Taylor Barlow won the boys 15-16 age group with rounds of 74-81-155, while Jason Sava placed second with a 160 and Evan Danzey came in third with a 161.

In the boys 13-14 division, Daniel Miller won in a playoff over Austin Tracey.

Both golfers shot a 155 and Milller sank a 6-foot par putt on the first playoff hole to win the title.

"This was our first big tournament of the summer," said Sertoma Junior Golf Tour director Andy Kesling. "With the exception of some rain on Thursday, it was a great two days of golf.

"We had some very tight divisions that came down to the last few holes, and playing two courses in two days is a great experience for all the young golfers."

Silas Berry won the boys 11-12 age group, which played nine holes each day, with a total of 92, while Joey Staffieri placed second with a 94 and Zach Garner came in third with a 121.

In the boys 9-10 division, Ben Tubbs finished first with a 106, while Jett Dexter came in second at 108 and David Degenaro took third at 109.

Julian Crozier won the boys 6-8 age group, which played six holes each day, with a 78, while Quinn Clark placed second at 79 and Zach Doorlag came in third with a 123.

In the girls 14-18 age group, which played nine holes on Thursday and 18 holes on Friday, Blue Streak linkster Camiel White finished first with a 138, while Red Devil golfer Paige Moffat placed second at 166 and Sarah Hunnicutt came in third with a 175.

In the girls 10-under division, which played nine holes each day, Kendall Griffin won with a 110 and Emily Waller placed second with a 125.

"The kids enjoyed themselves and I can't thank the staff at Highlands Ridge North and South for all of their help and for providing these beautiful courses for the kids to play on," Kesling said.

The next Sertoma Junior Golf Tour event is set for Golf Hammock Country Club on Tuesday, with tee times beginning at 9 a.m.
