OKEECHOBEE - OKEECHOBEE - Noah Wilcox was hit by a pitch in the bottom of the eighth inning with the bases loaded on Saturday to hand Okeechobee a 2-1 victory over Sebring in the opening round of the Dixie 14-year-old District 8 tournament at Okeechobee Sports Complex.
Tommy Bertoniere pitched a solid six innings and Seth Abeln followed with a solid inning on his own in a well-played contest, but a bit of fabric proved the difference in the contest, as Wilcox was plunked and Justin Morgan scored to hand the home team the win.
Sebring is now slated to face Avon Park at 1 p.m. on Sunday in an elimination game.
