Sebring Man Charged With Lewd Molestation

SEBRING — A Sebring man remained in Highlands County Jail without bond on Friday, charged with molesting a child under the age of 12.

Anthony Wayne Sandusky, 32, of 115 Marrero Ave., Sebring, was charged with sexual assault by an person 18 years old or older with victim less than 12 years old, a first-degree capital felony and lewd or lascivious behavior molestation of a victim less than 12 years of age, a first-degree life felony.

The incident dated back to Nov. 4, when members of the Highlands County Sheriff's Office were called to a hospital emergency room in reference to a child being the victim of a sexual battery.

Investigators spoke with the victim, who was from Avon Park, who told them she traveled with her friend and an adult female to Sandusky's Marrero Avenue home in Sebring.

While watching a movie, the victim told investigators she became sleepy and went to lie down in the suspect's bedroom.

The victim reported that at some point the other adult female and Sandosky came to bed. The victim reported she fell asleep.

During the night she reported that she woke up. She told investigators that she awoke when Sandusky was touching her inappropriately for about two hours, until she got out of bed and told her friend.

When questioned about the incident, Sandusky replied, "I don't think I did," and said if he did what he was being accused of doing he was asleep, and had no idea he was doing it, the report stated.

He told investigators he would never have intentionally done it. The report stated that he said he kept asking himself, "Did I do this?"
