Have you ever heard of the Tri-County Theatrical Troupe? Well, neither had I, then I read a small write-up on them in the paper.
Thankfully, there was a phone number for more information, which I called. Minister Robert Walker told me all about the troupe and what they were trying to do, which is to spread the work of God through drama, song and dance.
The troupe gave its first performance Saturday night.
"Crossroads" told the story of six woman at the cross roads of their lives. While in jail, they had to choose between going straight or keeping up their former lifestyle when they returned to the outside world. They did this while singing, dancing and acting. Had we not been told, none of us watching would have known this was most of the cast's first time acting.
Tri-County Theatrical Troupe has been invited to take their performance on the road, which tells you a lot about their work.
I would say that if they perform in Highlands County again, go. The price is a free will donation and it is well worth the price.
