The Father's Day fishing forecast is an excellent one, with a top-rated feeding migration lasting all morning long and right into early afternoon.
With the wind being very mild, any side of the lake should be holding fish in all the well-known hot spots.
The peak time during the morning is from 9-11 a.m., so you don't have to be on the water early to have the best shot at catching the big fish of the day. This Father's Day you can sleep in, arrange for your wife to serve you breakfast in bed, read the newspaper, get the kids' poles ready, and still get to the lake on time to put everyone in an excellent opportunity to hook into a monster Father's Day fish.
Fishing Forecast
Heading out on Father's Day to the lake with the family in pursuit of your favorite fish is a memory that will become a foundational truth for the lives of both children and fathers.
Experiencing an achievement together, no matter how many or how large the achieved catch, is essential in the formation of character both for sons and daughters, and fathers, too for that matter.
The preparation, responsibility, safety, anticipation and teamwork all serve to form personal values because each family member contributes individually. When the first hook set occurs, excitement builds as everyone waits to see if it will be successfully landed for a memorable picture and perhaps the first fish of many to become a Father's Day supper meal.
The sons are competing against the daughters — and vice versa — and the children hope father lands the biggest fish of his life. The father hopes to witness one of his children landing the biggest fish in the lake, and perhaps hopes he catches the second biggest fish in the lake.
A family rivalry is very important in the building of personal character.
This is a time where the family desires to create an once-in-a-lifetime memory that will spawn many a fish story, which each family member — adding their own personal touch — makes uniquely their own. Each one's "This Big" moment breathes into the memory a lasting commemoration, accomplishment and pride; a bond that only a family can create.
Yes, Father's Day and fishing were made for each other when the creator planned to bring forth the living creatures of the seas, and told Adam to have dominion over them. There were rivers in that garden set the boundaries of God's gift to mankind. Yes, there were Bass in those rivers, and I'm sure Adam made the first fishing pole before he made a net. And yes, a worm was the first bait of the first angler, who hoped to provide a meal for his sons and daughters.
The first father spent many a day with his children on the shores of those rivers attempting to achieve many goals which needed to be achieved by everyone as an essential part of life itself. Yes, fishing is one of life's values without measure, especially for the father who understands and remembers the Father's Days of years gone by and seeks to pass his values along faithfully to his very own.
A happy Father's Day to all fathers — especially to the family of anglers — God has blessed you richly.
