In Highlands Today this past week was an article covering the Sebring Parkway and plans to plant the median.
With today's water shortage and economic downturn, it is mind boggling that the city fathers have made the decision to spend $175,000-plus on such a project.
Planting live plants, then having to care for them will be a continual use of water and labor.
Why not make the logical choice of Xeriscape? It would certainly be a better use of money, and a saving of water. Are there no concerned people serving on the committee who made such a ludicrous decision?
