Most of the snowbirds have left the area, so those of you who have been sitting back and griping that the snowbirds are taking all the room and parking places can get out now. One of the places I would suggest you get out to is the Highlands Little Theatre to take in one of the performances of "Dearly Departed." It will surely take you mind off your worries, as it is hard to worry and laugh at the same time.
My husband, Van, and I went to the dinner performance Saturday night. Not only did we enjoy a super dinner as well as the company who shared our table, there was that nice-size slice of chocolate cake. Then it was time to get our laugh gear in working order because we were going to need it.
Rhonda Nelson made her stage debut as "Delightful," and she sure did a delightful job. Rhonda has done loads of other work with HLT such as stage crew, stage manager and sound technician to name a few. However, this was her first time on stage, and I must say she did herself up proud.
At the end of the season when ballots are sent out to season ticket holders to vote for the season's best actor, actress, supporting roll, set design and all the others, it sure is a job to try and give an accurate appraisal because all of them do such a great job.
In "Dearly Departed," Marshall McGuigan as "Junior" and Loraine Morris as "Suzanne" were super. In fact, the whole cast and crew deserves a standing ovation.
