Man Arrested After Domestic Rage

SEBRING — Police who responded to a domestic battery in progress call reportedly found three female victims crying and cowering in a rear hallway of the victim's Sebring home.

Police Officer Sean Bueford reported as he entered the home that he encountered Rogelio Pompa, 35, walking away from the women.

He ordered Pompa to place his hands above his head, but he did not listen, the report stated. He unholstered his Taser and aimed it at Pompa, repeating the order, but Pompa did not respond.
He tried to grab Pompa's arm but the man pulled away.

"I re-holstered my Taser, grabbed Rogelio's right arm and guided him to the ground," Bueford wrote. "Rogelio got onto all fours and still pulled away from my grasp."

He repeated the instructions in English and Spanish, to give him his hands. It took a wrist lock to get first the left wrist and then the right into handcuffs, the report stated.

Police investigators learned the victims, ages 13, 23, 30 and a 1-year-old male infant were home when Pompa came home intoxicated and accused the 23-year-old woman of a personal offense.

He further accused the 13-year-old and 30-year-old of knowing about the alleged offense.

During the altercation, all three females reported that Pompa struck or kicked them. He reportedly grabbed the 1-year-old boy and threw him onto a bed during the fight.

One victim tried to lock herself in a bedroom, but Pompa hit the door so hard he broke it in, the report stated.

Pompa was charged with domestic violence battery, domestic violence child cruelty - act that could result in physical or mental injury, resisting a law enforcement officer and obstructing justice by intimidating or threatening a victim, witness or informant.
