SEBRING — Two Sebring men remained in Highlands County Jail on Tuesday in lieu of $136,500 bond each, after deputies raided their home at 6302 Apple Road.
Hansel Cruz Vasallo, 22, and Danilo Marcelo Vasallo-Luis, 55, were charged with marijuana production, trafficking in marijuana in excess of 25 pounds and possession of narcotics equipment.
The two men were inside when deputies entered the house.
During the investigation, deputies found both live and harvested marijuana weighing slightly more than 34 pounds, lighting and irrigation equipment, cooling systems, plant containers, CO2 generators, fertilizer and other equipment associated with a grow house operation.
A search of the suspects revealed that each man had a key to the house on their key chains.
It was not clear how many live plants were recovered.
There was an electrical diversion, Lt. Greg Pearlman said Tuesday. However, no charge had been filed regarding theft of utility services, as officials with Glades Electric were still determining the extent of its financial loss, he said.
