The boat ramps at lakes Verona and Lotela were both re opened last Wednesday after they were damaged in washouts, city Risk Manager Kathy Bennett said.
The two ramps, located in Donaldson Park and on Ben Hicks Street, had partially crumbled apart after two separate storms took them out last month.
The repairs for the Verona ramp cost $8,607, while the Ben Hicks ramp sustained $5,934 in damages. The city had to pay a $1,000 deductible for the repair work on each ramp, which was otherwise covered by the city's insurance.
Avon Park has a third public boat ramp at Lake Tulane. A second boat ramp on Lake Lotela's south shore is maintained by the county.
