LAKE PLACID - A Lake Placid man was listed in fair condition at Tampa General Hospital, hospital spokesman John Dunn said Wednesday, after being flown out from the scene of a crash Monday evening on County Road 29 in Lake Placid.
Najeh O. Abuelouf, 54, was airlifted to Tampa on Monday in serious condition.
Abuelouf was headed east on County Road 29 in a 2005 Nissan Sentra, when the tail end of a westbound 2005 Ford F-150 pickup truck that spun out of control entered his lane.
A news release from the Florida Highway Patrol stated Harrison A. Hyre, 17, of Lake Placid was driving the pickup. He and his four passengers sustained minor injuries but none were hospitalized.
There were three 15-year-old passengers and one 18-year-old passenger in the truck, the report stated.
All were wearing their seat belts when the impact with the car caused the truck to flip. It then landed back on its wheels, the report stated.
Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, the report stated. Charges were pending, the report stated.
