Safe Driving Accident Prevention Program

AVON PARK - South Florida Community College's Community Education Department is offering a series of Safe Driving Accident Prevention Program courses for drivers who have received a traffic citation.

The four-hour courses will be held at the following days and dates:

•Friday, Aug. 8, 5-9 p.m., at the SFCC DeSoto campus, 2252 N.E. Turner Ave., Arcadia;

•Tuesday, Aug. 12, 6-10 p.m., at the SFCC Highlands campus, 600 W. College Drive., Avon Park;

•Thursday, Aug. 14, 5-9 p.m., at the SFCC Lake Placid Center, 500 E. Interlake Blvd., Lake Placid; and

•Saturday, Aug. 23, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., at the SFCC Hardee campus, 2968 U.S. 17 N., Bowling Green.

A Spanish SDAPP course will be held Saturday, Aug. 9, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., at the SFCC Highlands campus, Avon Park.

Pre-registration is required. The fee is $35 and may be paid by cash, check, or credit card.

Senior Citizens Driver Improvement Course AVON PARK - South Florida Community College Community Education Department is offering a Senior Citizens Driver Improvement course for people 55 or older. Successful completion of the course may entitle attendees to a discount on their auto insurance.

The six-hour class will be held Thursday, Aug. 14, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., at the SFCC Highlands campus in Avon Park.

Pre-registration is required. The fee is $10 and may be paid by cash, check, or credit card. Participants may register in Building B on the Highlands campus or at any SFCC campus or center.
