SEBRING - A dinner to raise money for the Jean-Claude Meus Defense Fund starts at 5 p.m. today at Homer's buffet, 1000 Sebring Square.
Meus, 44, was convicted in Hardee County in 2003. His truck ran into a car driven by Nona Moore, 40. She and her 8-year-old daughter, Lindsey, were killed. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison, but a judge overturned that verdict earlier this year.
Guest speakers include Victor Valdes of Naples, NAACP President Brenda Gray and Pastor Sam Varis.
Live entertainment will be provided by Niedrana King. Door prizes will be given.
Tickets are still available at the banquet room door.
