Reservations On For Beau Rivage Getaway
AVON PARK - VFW Post 9853 is having a Biloxi Getaway at the Beau Rivage from Aug. 19-22. Cost is $210 per person, double occupancy.

Forty-five dollars will be given back in free play, and there are many goodies on the bus. There will also be free play from two other casinos.

Reservations need to be made now, and full payment is due by Aug. 1.

Art League Meeting To Discuss Watercolor Book
LAKE PLACID - The Lake Placid Art League will meet at 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 16 at the Cultural Center, 127 Dal Hall Blvd., in Lake Placid.

Fran Ralston will review the book "Painting Watercolor Florals," by Jan Kunz.

For watercolorists, this will be a treat, and for those that do not dabble in watercolor medium, it will be an opportunity to understand this artistic form.

The gathering includes a covered dish dinner.

Everyone interested in art is invited to take part in the Art League.

Diabetes Education Sessions Set In Hardee

WAUCHULA - The Hardee County Health Department is offering a diabetes seminar for residents who are diabetic or pre-diabetic.

A three-day session in English is available on Aug. 7, Aug. 14 and Aug. 21 from 9 a.m. to noon.

A two-day session is available on Aug. 19 and Aug. 21 from 4 - 7 p.m. in both English and Spanish.

All classes are held at the Hardee County Health Department, located at 115 K. D. Revell Road.
