I have been trying to get the city of Sebring to correct our street signs for over a year. We are a street, and the year-old signs say we are an avenue. We are the only place around where an avenue crosses an avenue. I cannot get the city to get off their seats, but I recall the pictures of King Carl Cool in your paper with real street signs wasted at taxpayers' expense, saying "Carl Cool Avenue." What a crock!
Speaking of Mr. Cool, he stated his legacy was the Sebring Parkway. Does that mean we really spent that much money paying this guy all these years, and all we got was the Wal-Mart extended driveway? This "parkway" is useless, and if you like being passed, drive the speed limit on it and you will be passed by everything on the road, including plain white county economy cars. As a matter of fact, I have not seen anyone pulled over for speeding for a long time.
Now we have this guy Wright. We never got to vote on him, but he is getting more than Cool, and for what? These guys think we are a big government, but we are just a small community with good ole boys with big eyes and open pockets.
