Khara Rallies, Wins At Golf Hammock

SEBRING — Rocky Khara rallied from three strokes down with two holes to play and knocked off Blake Liles in a two-hole playoff on Tuesday to win the Sertoma Tour stop at Golf Hammock golf course.

Khara and Liles each fired 72, but Liles made back-to-back bogeys on No. 17 and 18 to give Khara a chance to strike. Khara sunk a par on the second playoff hole to complete his comeback. Clay Davis narrowly missed out on the playoff, carding a 73.

Sarah Hunnicutt won the 14-18 girls competition with a 110, two strokes ahead of Sarah Liles' 112. Paige Moffat finished with a 112 to take third.

Evan Danzey won the 15-16 boys race with a 79, two shots ahead of Sean Garner, who fired an 81. Aaron Walkup took third among 15-16 boys with an 84.

The 13-14 boys competition was won by Daniel Miller, who shot an 81, followed by Colin Walkup's 94 and Austin Tracey's 106.

Silas Berry won the 11-12 boys title with a nine-hole total of 45, ahead of Joey Staffieri, who shot a 50 and Lee Hinote, who fired a 59.

The 9-10 boys competition was won by Jett Dexter, who shot a 54 for nine holes. David Degenaro took second with a 56 and Ben Tubbs finished third with a 57.

Kendall Griffin won the 10-under girls division with a 62, while Nisha Patel carded a 65 to win the 11-13 girls division.

"We had a nice, hot day for golf," said Sertoma Tour director Andy Kesling. "The golf course was in beautiful shape and we had some nice scores posted."

The next Sertoma tour stop is set for July 10 at Lake Wales Country Club. Tee times begin at 9 a.m.
