Hardee School Vandalism Photo Gallery
WAUCHULA — Two 15-year-old Hardee Junior High School students face multiple charges, including felony criminal mischief, in connection with the vandalism of their school.
School employees reporting to work Wednesday discovered graffiti painted on the outside and inside of the school buildings, discharged fire extinguishers and broken windows.
The Hardee County Sheriff's Department reports the arrest of Jesus Juarez of Bowling Green and Emanuel Chagolla of Wauchula on charges of felony criminal mischief, burglary, grand theft, 12 counts of grand theft of fire extinguishers, 12 counts of discharging fire extinguishers, trespassing on school grounds and causing a false fire alarm.
They will be released to the Department of Juvenile Justice, according to the sheriff's office.
As a result of the arrests, three laptop computers and two hand-held two-way radios were recovered.
Highlands Today usually witholds the names of minors, depending on the severity of the alleged crimes and the number of people affected. For that reason, the names of suspects in this instance have been included.
