Facing Facts

It always amazes me how right wingers respond when presented with facts. It is obvious they can't accept facts because facts disturb their little comfort zone, which the neo-con, globalist controlled corporate media has built for them. They like to dismiss facts as "volatile diatribe" or "violent cacophony" or worse. The person presenting the facts is immediately labeled a radical, liberal, angry hate-monger. For your enlightenment, Mr. Gallagher, here are some facts.

I am a Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Eisenhower-type Republican and no one is more true conservative than I.

I also find it disgusting that you feel free to define my objectives with respect to my military career, when you don't even know me. Here are some more facts sir:

1. I never gave a darn for advancing in rank. My goal was to be the best pilot and soldier I could be.

2. I was enlisted for over 10 years before becoming commissioned, so have seen the military from two different perspectives (three when you add civilian perspective.) So please, do not try to dispute my assessment of the military. While you have every right to do so, you are hardly qualified sir.

With regard to the hate and anger you accuse me of, here are more facts. I have a bumper sticker which states "If you are not outraged, you are not paying attention," This is obviously your problem sir. Your letter of Jan. 13 clearly shows you do not have a clue to what is happening in the real world. I do not hate America or the military, but I am outraged at what the neo-con, globalist corporations who have taken over our government are doing to America, and the fact that they are using our military as a tool to promote their greedy agenda.

I suggest, sir, that you and people like you, wake up and step out of that little box you call your comfort zone and face the real world. I realize the real world is a very scary place, but the fact is, if people like you keep supporting the crooks who have borrowed us into bankruptcy (nearly $10 trillion) and giving our tax dollars to the war profiteers, conducting wars based on lies, exporting our jobs, destroying our children and grandchildrens' future, etc., the real world is about to get a whole lot scarier!
