SEBRING — Sheriff's K-9 deputy Kyle Albritton and his partner Naiche tracked a 16-year-old juvenile suspect wanted on a charge of violation of probation who walked out of the Department of Juvenile Justice office in Sun 'n Lake of Sebring.
According to Sheriff's Lt. Jess Purvis, the juvenile, Marvin Jermaine Owens Jr., 16, of Sebring, was tracked Thursday afternoon to some heavy woods behind Frames and Images at the frontage road near Tanglewood.
Albritton and Naiche located the juvenile in a heavy stand of weeds and underbrush near the entrance to the Sun 'n Lake sewage treatment facility.
Owens was the same suspect captured by sheriff's deputies Wednesday afternoon during a traffic stop at Lake Francis Road.
He was wanted for absconding from supervision, where he was being held on charges of possession of cocaine and possession of a firearm by a juvenile.
Owens reportedly was transported to the Department of Juvenile Justice in Bartow, where a Polk County judge gave him home detention, according to Purvis.
Prior to walking out, Owens was at the Sun 'n Lake DJJ office on charges of violation of probation for refusing to cooperate with a parent or guardian, being associated with forbidden individuals and refusing to cooperate with a DJJ counselor, Purvis said.
