Why Democrats?

I would like someone to tell me why he or she will vote for a Democrat?
Tell me without mentioning George Bush, Dick Cheney or the reasons we went into the Iraq War. Give me a reason on the merits of your chosen candidate.
In other words: Their experience? Their plan to deal with taxes, the economy, border security, abortion, the Patriot Act, free trade, education, etc. Please give examples.
In other words, what does your chosen candidate stand for that would cause you to vote for them?
