You, the volunteers, have been the strength of our organization since its beginnings a few short years ago. Without your support, many would have waited seemingly endless lengths of time, just to have a roof repaired after the hurricanes, or a wheelchair ramp installed merely to be able to get outside into the fresh air or see a doctor.
You have made a difference, a very big difference. You have helped Rebuilding Together serve the needs of over 300 homeowners since 2004; people without the means to keep their homes safe and sound, people without limbs and the simple ability to move about, disabled veterans, and elderly people who can't manage so many basic tasks.
Let's keep on doing this! What a thrill it is for us to install a simple ramp and see a paraplegic drive a wheelchair outdoors for the first time in years, or a mother express gratitude for a new roof that doesn't leak into her children's bedroom.
This is a worthy endeavor, and without your continued support, it would not be sustainable.
Once again, especially in this time of economic difficulty in Highlands County, we ask you to be generous. And we also ask, if you have the time and good health to work with us, to be one of our many volunteers. Please contact us if you are willing to give a small part of your time, painting, roofing and building wheelchair ramps. Call 863-402-6909.
