SEBRING –– The Sebring Senior Softball League games form last week had no big blowouts, just moderate scores, and no budding all-stars shining.

Discount Aluminum caught a lot of attention with their new classy uniform shirts and caps, plus they had a winning score of 23-14 over the Klingons.

Aluminum was in the lead until the fifth inning. Klingons poured on some coal and scored 11 runs, but Aluminum put a sudden stop to that and won the game.

Discount Aluminum's James Gilbert was the hot hitter by slugging out two home runs. Four players going 3 for 4 were Mike Ellis with three RBIs, Jim Larnard, Rudy Pibble and Tom Walsh each earning two RBIs. The new kid on the team, Rod Palmer, went 3 for 3 with 2 runs scored.

Larry lane was 2 for 3 and scoring twice, being responsible for two of the four runs scored. A few of their players were limping onto the field, but determined to participate.

Reflections met Silent Salesman on Field B with the score of 17-8 tilting their way.

Royal Palms and the Rebels were neck and neck for the first two innings, and then the Rebels pulled ahead by one run. The Palms took hold of the reins by scoring five runs and kept plowing ahead for a 21-11 victory.

Ross Anderson had a home run, triple and single accountable for six RBI, and Bob MacCarrick with a home run, double, single and four RBIs.

In Thursday's action, Silent Salesman found that Highlands Independent Bank Sebring's ability should not be underestimated.

They hit surprisingly well making the score a close 16-10 through the fifth inning. The Salesman then pumped it up to score nine runs in the last three innings, making a final score 25-12.

Salesman's fielders seemed to be playing the game "hot potato" with the softballs, which helped the Bank's score.

The Bank's main hitters were Ramon Gomez and Larry Lane each banging out a double. Ray Concepcion and Paul DuBrule added their efforts by batting 3 for 5.

Salesman's hitting barrage was led again by Marvin Knutilla going 5 for 5 with three doubles. Don Cunningham and Richard Godfrey each had 4 for 5 including a home run and triple. Marvin, Fred and Harley each rounded the bases four times. Mike Jurmu added four hits including, two doubles.
