Robot Messages

The phone things "I am away from my desk" or "Your call is important to us" has reached the ridiculous stage. We are either on hold or waiting for a call back. Many of us are not computer literate or are handicapped and just can't communicate with a computer. Some people do not own one.
Right now I just listened to a robot tell me I was caller number one. After five minutes of commercial it told me I was still caller number one. After three more minutes the robot told me again I was caller number one, and if I wanted to talk to a person, enter number eight or stay on the line, which I did. Then, the robot came back with the same message. I repeated this one more time. I finally left a call-back message. I am still waiting for a call back, which is about an hour. I guess I don't need the darn thing anyway. I'm going to lunch.
