SEBRING – Wind gusts have once again stirred the brush fire today that threatened houses Monday afternoon and evening.
The fire is moving from south to north near Henscratch Road and Concourse, southwest of Sebring. Smoke is visible from that area.
Bert Lawson, who lives at 2717 Concourse, prepared to evacuate his family and horse at about 12:45 p.m. today if the fire moves too close to his house.
A house and mobile home are in danger, but firefighters have set up a defensive line and are prepared to fight the fire, according to witnesses. Heavy equipment and fire personnel are on the scene and a firebreak has been built.
More coming as the story develops.
