The time has come where the middle class taxpayer is just about stretched to the limit financially. The new homestead exemption helped somewhat, but the local governments will need additional taxes to keep the level of services they offer, especially law enforcement.
First, all delinquent taxes must be demanded right away. No more time limits except for personal hardship, which can be dealt with on a one-on-one basis. Foreign investors must pay up or lose their property. You cannot get the profit without paying first.
I know liens are put on property with interest, we want taxes now, when due, not later. There cannot be a free lunch for anyone. If you live here, pay your fair share, no exemptions, except for homesteads.Non-profits pay too. That law has outlived its usefulness. Do away with all their exemptions, look at their executives' salaries. That's non-profit? There are too many abusers.
Churches keep their exemptions, just for the property the church sets upon. I am tired of paying taxes for others. My pockets are empty.
