We are aiding economies worldwide from the many military bases we have all over the world. The president now wishes to build another base in Iraq.
Some of those who are running in 2008 support this same policy. We must have congressional over sight on the military industrial complex. We must close many bases overseas, many over 50 years old. These many bases could just as well be located in the United States, aiding the states where they are relocated.
In past history, the Romans put military boots in all the known nations. It caused the collapse of Rome, as it could not financially support that type of military. America cannot support that type of military complex.
Let's see if I have this right. We are borrowing to re-construct Iraq and other nations. We are also borrowing money to give a tax break for the super rich, also borrowing to bail out the banks and the stock market, and to pay for illegal loans.
The printing press is either the greatest blessing or the greatest curse of modern times.
