It's very disturbing when you're always reading about the common man-woman losing their jobs. What makes it worse, you read about the government bailing all these big companies out of their financial problems. Where is the government for the real workers? They should be considered before the big companies. It isn't the common workers' fault the bosses miss-managed funds and only looked out for themselves.
I recently read where 29 teachers may lose their jobs in Highlands County. This really bothers me because I still have children in the county school system. They say the classrooms will get bigger and the teachers will have more responsibilities. Well what happens to the kid in class that doesn't catch on as fast as the others? "No kids left behind" huh!
There will be a lot of kids left behind if and when these cuts take place. Fortunately I'm blessed, my kids receive the extra help they need at home, but there are times I can't help them and there are kids who receive absolutely no extra help.
When I was in school the teacher and the administrator cared about our education, now they don't have the time or equipment necessary to help our kids. The kids are the future and we need to invest and ensure they are equipped to do what's necessary to survive in this world. So instead of bailing out G.M., AIG and Fannie Mae, bail out DeCara, DeCaris Jr., Alexis, Breon, Larry, Jada and all the kids who will be the ones that carry this country into the future.
