SEBRING - The Greater Sebring Chamber of Commerce will have several new members joining its board of directors in January.
A total of seven people - nearly half of the board - will begin serving three-year terms. They include: Bob Mahaffey of Highlands Regional Medical Center, Mark Cox of Wicks, Brown & Williams CPAs, Glades Electric Cooperative's Paul McGehee, Cathy Albritton of Florida Hospital Heartland Division, Clarissa Williams of the News-Sun, Jan Farinato of RE/MAX Realty Plus and Chet Brojek, former teacher and coach who is now retired.
The board's chairman will be David Noel of Organization Development Services. The other officers are: Craig Johnson, HeacockFinancial, chair elect; Susan Jones, MID FLORIDA CREDIT UNION, immediate past chair; Nick Schommer, attorney, vice chair; Kim Heintz, Highlands Independent Bank, treasurer; Wini Quesenberry, Heartland National Bank, secretary.
Don Elwell of the Alan Jay Automotive Network and Mario Trevino of Merrill Lynch are also directors.
"We're excited about the new leadership at the chamber," said Sarah Pallone, president/CEO. "This is a wonderful group of decision makers and people who I feel are dedicated to serve."
Linda Wells of Ridge Area Arc is the chairperson of the chamber's Ambassador Committee, whose members welcome new businesses to the community. Its members include: Jennifer Williams of Highlands Independent Bank, Fan Wells of Crowne Pointe, Jacqueline Sisson of A Touch of Health by Jacqueline, Nadine Tedstone of the Sebring chamber, Janice Roberts of The Palms of Sebring, Richard Banis of Highlands Office Supply, Kathryn Doddridge of Florida Hospital Heartland Division, Andrew Hughes of Wauchula State Bank, Megan Klootwyk of Sun 'n Lake Golf and Country Club, Julia Mercer of Palms Home Care, Steve Nyhan of Mutual of Omaha, Grace Plants of Florida Hospital Lifeline as well as Farinato and Quesenberry.
In other chamber news, Pallone said she has set up a book exchange for members. They can borrow or exchange business-related books from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at chamber Welcome Center, 227 U.S. 27 N.
Linda's Books in downtown Sebring has donated several books. The chamber is looking for more books.
