SARASOTA - Sophomore Amanda Grimaldo scored two goals and the Sebring defense played with a sense of urgency to earn a 3-0 shutout victory over Sarasota Booker in a Class 4A-District 10 match on Thursday.
"Our defense really played well and I think, as a team, we played more organized than we have lately," Sebring head coach Steve Ashley said. "We moved the ball around well and our passes were crisp. It was nice to pick up a district win tonight."
Lisa Pryzchocki added a goal at the 55 minute mark for the Streaks.
Sebring was set to play archrival Avon Park on Friday night. See Sunday's Highlands Today for complete game coverage.
The Streaks travel to face Clewiston on Monday at 7:30 p.m.
BOYS SOCCER: Sebring 2, Booker 1
Junior Buck Schroeder scored the game-winner at the 70 minute mark to lift Sebring to a 2-1 victory over Booker in a Class 4A-District 10 clash on Thursday.
"The team fought hard to get this win," said SHS head coach Tim Boulay. "After Booker tied the game, we became more aggressive and were able to get really good shots until Buck found the back of the net.
"This was a total team win tonight."
Booker tied the game on a penalty kick early in the second half.

The Streaks' next home game is set for Tuesday when they host the Red Devils. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
NOTE: Lake Placid boys and girls soccer matches against Frostproof were cancelled. The games are rescheduled for Jan. 20.
