AVON PARK - The 17th annual Brad Doty Memorial Children's Christmas Classic golf tournament received a large amount of support from the community on Saturday.

The popular tournament attracted a strong field that competed in a four-person scramble format over the demanding Pinecrest Golf Club layout.

The team of Rocky Khara, John Vicker Jr., Cory DeCouteau and John Vicker Sr. finished first in the First Flight low gross division with a score of 56.

Paul Morris, Glenn Hall, Mike Shawver and John Haviland won the First Flight low net division with a score of 55, while Mike Lamb, Steve Swan, Dan McCoombs and Pete Dillon finished second in low net with a 56.

Kip Doty, Tony Basssett, Ricky Hayes and Jim Baker won the Second Flight low gross with a 63.

Dwayne Edge, Jim Murphy, Eric Cord and Eddie Laferson won the low net division with a 62, while Kenny Koehler, Darrell Layfield, Pat Rielly and Rick Bates placed second in the net division with a 63.

Closest-to-the-pin winners were Jim Doty on hole No. 5, Rick Thompson on No. 7, Don Young on No. 10 and Warren Watts on No. 12.

Long drive winners were Jim Murphy on hole No. 6 and Cory DeCouteau on No. 14.
