This letter is in reference to the article "When a Promise Isn't Kept."
I was having my morning cup of coffee and I picked up the Highlands Today, dated Aug. 22, and saw the Three Stooges; oh I'm sorry, the Four Stooges, complaining like my mom used to say, "Complaining about how hard they have it with a loaf of bread under each arm."
Ford, G.M. and Chrysler are in the shape they are today because of men like these four, wanting more and more! No wonder we are called ugly Americans! The days of working at the same job for 20 years are mostly over and the younger guys coming up don't get benefits like these guys anymore.
These four get a nice pension with a cost of living, plus Social Security, which I bet is at least $2,000 a month, Medicare, and I guess they are vets, and can get meds from the V.A. They may even get disability. So why not stop your moaning and be grateful for the bounty you have that most of us don't have.
G.M. is going to send you $1,200 a month, which is more than what I live on right now. I see this complaining all over Sebring, and all I can say is "Get a life!"
