The troupes from the Little Theatre have once again out done themselves in their production of Elton John and Tim Rice's "Aida," a timeless love story. It was wonderful: the acting, the singing, the dancing, the costume design and the set. It was all outstanding.

I just loved the night scenes with the stars and moon. There is no way I can get it across to you reading this, so I will leave it with it was just spectacular. The costume design sure fit the period and you could tell hour upon hour of work went into them. The lighting, the sound, just every thing that went into "Aida" showed in the finished product.

How can I tell you about the cast? To see such talent and know these people live right here in Highlands County make you want to applaud until your hands are sore. Josh McGhee is just super in whatever role he plays and I sure hope he can fulfill his dream of acting professionally. Kelly Pelham sure had the audience eating out of her hands, they just loved her. Not enough can be said of Virginia Leach Virginia was Aida. Your heart went out to Christopher Hayes as Radames. The whole cast deserves a standing ovation.

The food was yummy as always. I do hope each of you has tried the Depot Restaurant and Catering by now. Their food is sure good.

If you didn't get to the plays this season this year do try for next year. The season tickets are on sell now. I am sure you will be glad you have your ticket once you see the first play of next season, which will be "Beauty and the Beast" starting Nov. 7.

I would like to thank all the sponsors of the Highlands Little Theatre, without them the county would sure be missing out. I know Highlands Independent Bank and the Cohan Radio Group had a big hand in "Aida." But there were so many more, I wish I could name them all.
